Who am I?

I am young and committed, up-and-coming media enthused individual from Northern Virginia, looking to leave his mark on this world. Where I'm from people try to push into towards government and other corporate oriented careers. The few artistically individuals stick out and are always willing to push the edge on their work. It wasn't until high school that I determined I had a love and passion for photography and videography. It was my TV production teacher that gave me the motivation to pursue work in the media industry. It wasn't until my senior where my teacher entered my stop frame animation short film into the Virginia High School Film festival, that I saw it in myself that was able to competewith like-minded individuals.  I am now a Junior at James Madison University, pursuing a degree through the School of Media Arts and Design with a concentration in Digital Video Cinema. 

I used to be so narrowed minded which I found limited me from the endless possibilities that are out there for me. Now, after being able to extensively network and encounter people with opposing views, I have come to realize that broadening my viewpoints will also broaden my opportunities and experiences. 

Capturing the world through different lenses outside of what is simply in your vantage point can change the way you go about life. Personally, I love questioning theories, ideas, and the functions of things in this world. I always want to know why things act a certain way. I search for the counterarguments for things that are deemed to be the norm in society. I believe there is a reason behind everything that is done in life and it is our job as humans to question it. We must never become complacent with where we are and the amount of knowledge we possess. 

On a more personal level, I believe that I have fallen in love with videography and photography because of the power and emotion it gave me. The ability to capture something in real time and then play it back to the audience in a way which would evoke any emotion, is enlivening. Being able to create something, which was once just a concept in my head, into a reality, is such an exhilarating feeling, which in my mind is unmatched. One of my goals I have in life, is to travel the world and tell the stories of those who do not have the capability to do it themselves. In this world, on this planet, everyone has a story and in telling their stories, I will also be telling my own.
